Rev Chavis T. Young

Pastor Young was born and raised in Wadesboro, North Carolina. At the age of 19, he accepted his calling into the preaching and teaching ministry.

In 1998, after Army Basic Training, Pastor Young was assigned to his Duty Station at Ft. Lewis, WA. In 2000, Pastor Young joined Shiloh Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Gregory Christopher. Pastor Young was Licensed at Shiloh Baptist Church in 2001 and received his ordination in 2004, also at Shiloh Baptist Church.

By the grace of God, Pastor Young has been involved in youth ministry activities within Shiloh Baptist Church, the Ebenezer Baptist District Association, the North Pacific Baptist Convention, and the National Baptist convention USA, Inc., since he arrived in Washington State. 

Pastor Young is a graduate of Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, WA. where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religion. He also received his Masters degree in Christian Ministry with a focus in family counseling at Faith Evangelical Seminary.

Pastor Young served as Youth Counselor for the North Pacific Baptist Convention as well as the Youth Counselor for the Ebenezer Baptist District Association. Pastor Young currently holds the position of Board of Christian Education Chairman for the Ebenezer Baptist District Association. He also holds the same position within the North Pacific Baptist Convention, Pastor Young has many other great accomplishments which are not listed. 

From 2004 to 2009, Pastor Young worked for World Vision as a youth outreach worker He served with the Pierce County Community and Tacoma School District, ministering to at-risk youth. 

In 2009, the members of Shiloh Baptist Church elected him to be the new Servant Youth Pastor. In 2022, Pastor Young was elevated to the position of Assistant Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, and on March 1, 2024, Rev. Chavis T. Young became the newly elected Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Pastor Young is married to Sister Toshia Young; they have been married for twenty-four years. They have one son, Minister Malando Redeemer and one daughter, Marietta Young.
