Gregory Christopher

Senior Pastor

Gregory Christopher was born in Chicago, Illinois, but grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1989, he announced his calling to the Ministry under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Lonnie Brown of the Body of Christ Christian Church in Tacoma, Washington.

Education

Pastor Christopher is a graduate of A.L. Hardy Academy of Theology where he pursued and received a Doctorate of Ministry as well as a Master of Theology. The A.L. Hardy Academy is a theological seminary located in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Christopher also attended Southern Community College in Shreveport, Louisiana; Central Community College in Centralia, Washington; and Pierce College in Tacoma, Washington. Pastor Christopher has completed several certificates in Theology from Berean College Assemblies of God National Correspondence Institute and Emmaus Bible College.

Religious Involvement

Dr. Christopher is currently the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, 1st Vice President of the North Pacific Baptist Convention and Vice Moderator of the Ebenezer Baptist District Association. Previous posts include the Dean of the North Pacific Baptist Convention, Second Vice President of the Tacoma Ministerial Alliance and President of Operation Christ Ministry. Pastor Christopher is a board member of Associated Ministries, past Dean of the Ebenezer Baptist District Association and past Youth Director of Youth for Christ, YMCA.

Civic Involvement

Pastor Christopher is the President of the Tacoma Branch of the NAACP, a member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Black Collective and a board member of the Tacoma Urban League.

Family

On February 18, 1989, Gregory and Evelyn Christopher were united in holy matrimony. In this union, two families were united. They are the proud parents of five children, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Rev. Chavis Young

Youth Pastor

Rev. Chavis Young born and raised in Wadesboro, North Carolina, at the age of 19 he accepted his calling into the preaching and teaching ministry. In 2000 he joined the Shiloh Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Christopher. By the grace of God he has been involved in youth ministry activities in Shiloh Baptist Church, Ebenezer Baptist District Association, North Pacific Baptist Convention, and the National Baptist Convention usa, inc. Rev. Young was Licensed at Shiloh Baptist Church (2001) and received his ordination (2004) at the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Education

Rev. Young is a graduate of Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, WA. There he earned his Bachelors of Arts in Religion and is currently pursuing his Master degree in Christian Ministry with a focus in family counseling.  Rev. Young also attended Pierce College in Steilacoom,  WA; Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, WA; and Evergreen College in Tacoma, WA.

Rev. Young is currently the youth counselor for the National Baptist Convention and was past youth counselor for the Ebenezer Baptist District Association. From 2004—2009 Rev. Young worked for World Vision as a youth outreach worker. Serving the pierce county community and Tacoma School District ministering to at-risk youth.  And in 2009 the Shiloh Baptist Church elected him to be the new servant youth pastor, replacing the dynamic leader Rev. Dwayne Hawkins.

Rev. young is married to Toshia Young. They have been married for 11 years and have one son Malando Redeemer  and one daughter Monet’ Young.
